John Wayne Cancer Institute at Saint John’s Health Center is a cancer research institute dedicated to
the understanding and curing of cancer in order to eliminate patient suffering worldwide. Our mission
is accomplished through innovative clinical and laboratory research and the education of the next
generation of surgical oncologists and scientists.
The John Wayne Cancer Institute offers a comprehensive set of highly respected postdoctoral training programs, ranging from its Society of Surgical Oncology-approved breast oncology and surgical oncology programs, to its lab-based translational science fellowships, to its clinically oriented neurosurgical fellowship.
The John Wayne Cancer Institute Auxiliary held it's 28th Annual Odyssey Ball this April at the Beverly Wilshire Hotel. Proceeds from this year's gala are supporting the Institute's Surgical Oncology Fellowship Program, which is a vital part of JWCI's mission to train the next generation of leaders in cancer research and treatment. "The Duke Award" was presented to Michael Sitrick, Chairman and CEO of Sitrick and Company, in recognition of his support of cancer research. Special thanks to all members of the JWCI Auxiliary and the John Wayne Cancer Foundation for its generous matching gift to support the Fellowship Program.
