Biography
Dr. Erik N. Zeegen, a board-certified orthopaedic surgeon, is one of Southern California's leading joint replacement surgeons. His practice is focused on hip and knee replacement surgery, including revising hip and knee replacements that have failed.
Dr. Zeegen offers the latest medical technologies, including lesser invasive techniques and sophisticated knee pain and hip pain management protocols. This allows his patients the greatest opportunity of returning to an active lifestyle with the least amount of post-operative pain. Dr. Zeegen also offers transfusion-free surgery to those patients who require such service.
A native of Southern California, Dr. Zeegen attended the University of California at Berkeley and at Los Angeles as an undergraduate, and earned his Doctor of Medicine from UCLA in 1996. He also completed his general surgery internship and orthopaedic surgery residency at UCLA. Dr. Zeegen moved to Boston in 2001 to take a fellowship in Orthopaedic Surgical Oncology at Massachusetts General Hospital and Boston Children’s Hospital. He then had a fellowship in Adult Reconstructive Surgery at Boston’s New England Baptist Hospital from 2002-2003 before returning to Los Angeles in late 2003.
