JWCI
Comprehensive Brain Tumor Program

Being diagnosed with a brain tumor can be an overwhelming life event. At the Brain Tumor Center, we provide comprehensive, compassionate care for patients with all types of brain tumors. We also provide patient support and education, as well as facilitate psychosocial referrals.

We treat all types of brain tumors, including gliomas (astrocytoma, glioblastoma multiforme, oligodendroglioma), meningioma, craniopharyngioma, hemangioblastoma and metastatic brain tumors as well as skull base tumors including clival chordomas, sphenoid sinus carcinomas and olfactory neuroblastomas.

The specific treatment recommended depends on tumor type and location as well as general health status. For many types of brain tumors, surgical removal alone may be sufficient while for others, Chemotherapy and/or Radiotherapy (Radiosurgery or Stereotactic Radiotherapy) may also be needed. For patients with malignant or aggressive tumors, we work closely with our colleagues in and Neuro-Oncology, Medical Oncology and Radiation Oncology to provide the optimal treatment plan.
