The Cleft Palate Center Team may consist of these professional services:
Plastic Surgery
Evaluation of the newborn and consultation with parents and referring pediatrician or family physician
Cleft lip and nasal reconstruction and cleft palate repair in infancy
Orthognathic surgery, lip and nasal reconstruction, secondary palatal surgery as needed
Pediatric/Adolescent Medicine
Intake consultation and medical case management
Feeding evaluation and assessment-see nursing
Collaboration and continuity of care with the private pediatrician or family physician
Collaboration and consultation with subspecialty pediatric services when needed- genetics, cardiology, pulmonology, neurology, endocrine, developmental services
Collaboration with social services to assess parents needs and address family concerns
Speech Pathology
Infant and toddler speech and language assessment and stimulation program
Preschool and school age speech assessment and individual therapy
Adult speech and language evaluations and treatment

Feeding assessment and recommendations to prevent "failure to thrive syndrome"
