Each of the three Saint John’s
Health Center’s
Ambulatory Surgery Center’s
(ASC) operating rooms is outfitted with advanced lighting and two booms to keep
the operating equipment within easy reach. As in the Howard Keck
Diagnostic Center,
images and other patient information is digitally transmitted from the
diagnostic labs and can be readily shared with staff in all the ambulatory
suites.
With parking conveniently located directly behind the
center, patients enter from the parking lot under a covered awning to a
reception and waiting area. Prior to surgery, patients will be prepared and
comfortably await their procedures in the private, screened pre-op bays. After
surgery, patients will return to the bay area to rest and recover. When ready
to leave the facility, patients will be taken to the waiting room to connect
with loved ones, who will transport them home.
The ASC also has:
·
Equipment that is ceiling-mounted to allow for
ease of movement and visibility of the operating field from anywhere in the
room
·
Two monitors attached to the booms
·
Equipped for minimally invasive procedures
·
Yag Laser program for posterior capsulotomy
(cataracts)
·
